Guess what... We've Moved!

Hi there!

By now you may be wondering where the heck we've been!

Well, *clears throat* my family and I packed up and now have a new home. Not a home at the beach unfortunately but a brand new site! And this photo is from an upcoming travel post.

If you feel so inclined (and we hope that you do) head over and check us out at www.thrillermom.com. There's already good stuff to read ranging from how I came up with the name Thriller Mom (and I know you're curious), to our recent travels, new features, and more!

We apologize for taking so long to post this update but it's here now and we're ready to move forward! This site will stay up for a while as changes continue to be made so feel free to come back and read older posts.

Alright, enough dilly dallying! Head on over to our new spot on this big ol' web. We are too excited and can't wait to see you there!

I love to save money, don’t you? When planning for vacations and short road trips, spending less is mandatory for my family. Attentiveness towards our budget opens doors to experience more. Here’s how we make travel savings happen.

No Sleep and Panty Strings

"But I’ve been there.

I’ve gone to the depths of insanity that lack of sleep causes and set up shop. My burdened eyelids have been obese with the sleep I never received! I’ve been there and somewhere, there’s a Walmart video recording of a little chocolate woman and her panty strings to prove it!"

When the stars align, and I am afforded time for writing indulgence, I join in on the TODAY Parenting Team challenges. It is such a great community in which to laugh, cry, learn, grow, and everything in between.

Go here to bask in my No Sleep and Panty Strings fiasco. May you find a few laughs and something to relate to along the way! Thanks so much for being here. Your support is always greatly appreciated. Remember to click on the lady below to vote and keep me as a Top Mommy Blogger.

When Petty Happens

It was Sunday morning.

I was up early, battling pain from the night’s war to claim a place in my bed. There was too much to be done and I was frozen in perplexity about tackling it all. A stroke of genius zapped me like lightning: Enlisting help was the key to accomplishment for the day!

Delegating extra tasks in my home looks like God’s wrath on Ramses’ kingdom, so I don’t do it often!

With confidence and pride in my genius, I entered the bedroom where Johnny lingered. He was replacing batteries in a dismantled toy for our girls.

You Have to Choose!

“Are you committed or just interested?”

My dad, the King of Fitness, in all of his glory, has been the example of good health throughout my life. The aforementioned question is what he asks himself when he’s not in the mood to exercise or put his all into an endeavor. When he shared this with me, it hit me like Rafiki hit Simba in The Lion King.

Am I committed or just interested? Such a profound question and applicable in all areas of life; It especially pushes me to get my ish together when I’m ebbing but duty still calls.

Sure to Impress

I’ve come to accept certain things about myself. For instance, I will never be a professional athlete or enjoy caviar. Those things just aren’t going to happen. I also won’t be achieving the title of “event planner" any time soon. I’m not a highly organized person, and unfortunately having a scatterbrain for party planning is my superpower!

Such is life for me.

However, you may indeed be that organized and focused event planner. Coordinating sophisticated events with the finest of detail and décor may be your passion. If so, I’d like to turn your attention to Anoush Banquet Halls & Catering. I think you will appreciate the lavish wedding venues, banquet halls, and overall service offered by this company.

Ballrooms such as “The Brandview” of Glendale and “Le Foyer” of Hollywood are able to accommodate up to 550 people; That is a plethora of space for dining, dancing, and all-around good times. Their exclusivity, size, and elegance are sure to impress! There are more fabulous venues to choose from on the website.

Award-winning catering is another way this company has stayed in business for over 30 years. The staff works to tailor a menu suitable to the style and atmosphere of your event. Their experience and expertise lend creativity in the kitchen that is able to stand up to the most discriminative of palates.

Anoush Banquet Halls & Catering works with their clients to ensure satisfaction. Whether the event is a wedding, dinner party, corporate function, etc., extreme attention is paid to each client’s vision.  Simply put… tell Anoush what you want, and they make it happen! This company’s aim is to get your event as close to perfection as possible.

Be sure to visit the website to view their services in greater detail. There you will find information about pricing, availability, and how to contact them directly. Even if you’re not planning an event, a visit to one of their venues may be well worth the effort.

As always, thanks for being here! Your support is greatly appreciated.  Remember to click on the lady below to vote for me as a Top Mommy Blogger. Thanks again!

Let Them Jump

It’s innate for parents to want to protect their children. When a young boy climbs his way atop the kitchen counter declaring he’s Superman, the first thing a parent does is yell for him to “get down!” When a little girl has scaled imaginable heights to proclaim her flight capabilities, parents immediately rush to rescue her from her own demise.

Parenting inevitably makes you paranoid, correct? We are supposed to be extremely cautious right? Or wrong?
